Anger Management | Controlling Anger

Anger is  a mental state of mind.It is the great fire in the human mind.It may take the shape of  yelling shouting and verbal abuse.Anger triggers an increase in heart rate, blood pressure and levels of adrenaline and noradrenalin.
When we expect a certain type of behaviour from someone and if the behaviour is not up to our expectations we become angry and violent, convincing our self that others need to be punished. The result is an unresolved conflict which emerges according to time and circumstances.
Angry people are too attached to the fact that they are right and other is wrong. They feel too justified to think of forgiveness in order to make the situation peaceful.
In order to control anger we have to change the following wrong believes.
1.

The actions of others make me angry.
In the same situation two different people react differently. In is also true  in case of anger. This means that our thought and not the situation is responsible for the anger. If we change our thought pattern  we can completely control the anger.
2.Anger is used to motivate others.
The base of every relationship is trust and respect. It may be at home and office as well.Anger never makes a relationship. It influences the motivation negatively. The capacity of the person at work decreases when we get angry with anyone and result is lesser output.

In addition to changing the above wrong believes following actions must be taken for anger management.
1 Change your perception.:- Two different people behaves(level of anger) differently for the same situation. This means our perception to the situation governs our behaviour and not the situation itself.Changing our perception towards the situation is the first step in anger management.
2 Accept what you can’t change:- never try to control the behaviour of other people. As they are not in your control.Just accept the things and focus on the  things you can control i.e.your reaction to others behaviour.
3 Live in present :- Don’t keep any unhealthy emotions for a particular person or situation.Live in present and try to wash  out the memories of earlier behaviours or conflict while reacting to the present situation
4 Learn to forgive:-Accept the fact that nobody is perfect in this world and everyone makes mistake.Just forgive and move on.
5 Start observing your thoughts:- Whenever you feel angry start observing your thoughts, Detach yourself from the situation and think if the anger is necessary.
6 Increase your inner strength :- To follow all the above steps to control anger you need to increase your internal power. This can only done by meditation.
